The Application solves most of the problems due to chaotic system in the Logistics and Transport Industry, through its smart solutions

Work Order Creation

The Admin and Cargo Owner can create a Work Order with source/pick-up and destination/delivery details.

Work Order Configuration

For each Work Order, the Admin and Cargo Owner can configure cargo type, total weight, preferred vehicle type, payment terms (such as 50% advance and 50% after delivery), and choose whether to enable live tracking.

Work Order Management

The Admin can view all Work Orders along with source/destination locations, Cargo Owner details, and the status of each Work Order.

TVP Module

The Admin can invite investors (TVP Partners) for a Work Order, request funding, and manage the entire investment process through the dashboard.

Dashboard

The Admin Dashboard displays key statistics: recently added trucks and drivers, total trucks, driver users, truck owners, brokers, and overall user count.

Role-Based Authentication

The Admin can create different admin roles, assign permissions, and provide access to relevant modules based on role.

The Story

One fine morning, we got a call from Mr. Khurshid Alam. He is an adept in the Logistics Industry and also a Technology enthusiast. Having extensive experience in the field of Logistics, he was well aware of the difficulties faced by the Cargo Owners and Truck Owners in the Industry and the complexities in the system that led to several malpractices, unnecessary indulgence of middlemen and hidden costs.

He also told us that he is highly inspired by technology and disruption and as we are seeing digitization in every field, now, people in transportation and logistics industry are also experiencing a necessity for this digitization. He has always had high aims to bring a reform in the industry, by developing an App to connect Cargo Owners, Truck Owners and Agents/Brokers.

During the first meeting, he explained to our team regarding the problems in the Industry. He said, Cargo Owners are not aware whom to appoint for delivery of shipment. They are facing problems of delayed delivery, which also results in high cost. And, shipments are not getting delivered to the right hands. They get worried when they cannot track the shipment. Also, the bad driving habits and carelessness of Truck Drivers leads to thefts of shipment, delayed deliveries, delivery of shipment to wrong hands and several other problems.

Problems Faced

Due to the lack of digitization, the Logistics Industry faced many problems such as loss of revenue, hidden costs and several malpractices

Problem 1

Poor Connectivity between Cargo Owners, Truck Owners and Brokers - this led to Cargo Owners not being able to find Truck Service Providers.

Problem 2

Although there were many trucks that were running without load, Cargo Owners still faced the problem of not being able to find trucks for transportation.

Problem 3

Tracking of shipment during the transit was the biggest challenge that the Cargo Owners, Truck Owners and Brokers faced.

Problem 4

Bad driving habits and bad behaviour of truck drivers lead to several problems during transit with delay in shipment delivery and damage of goods.

Problem 5

Many trucks that shipped cargo returned empty and this inability to optimize multiple shipment deliveries and truck routes resulted in a big loss to the Truck Owners.

Problem 6

Unnecessary commissions to middlemen, who do not add any revenue to the businesses, was another major issue for the Truck Owners and Cargo Owners.

Challenges Met

The Challenges faced by our team when the App was live and the way they were handled effectively.

Lack of English knowledge

Truck Drivers cannot read and understand English as they are only familiar with their regional languages.

Resistance to new technology

Even with the App installed, the Truck Drivers may not update the pickup & delivery statuses of cargo shipment. This would leave the Truck Owners/Brokers and Cargo Owners blind folded. Most of the Truck Drivers did not use Smart phones and getting updates about whereabouts of shipment was nearly impossible.

Irrelevancy of Work Orders

Many Truck Owners/Brokers and Cargo Owners, who were busy with their work & schedules, did not regularly track the shipment during transit. All the truck owners & Agents across the Country were commonly getting the notification for every Shipment Work Assignments that all the Cargo Owners posted, irrespective of their preferred locations.

Lack of Transparency

There was no Transparency with regard to payment from the Cargo Owners. And, Truck Owners were hesitant to directly ask the Cargo Owners about the payment.

Step by Step Approach

We followed a step-by-step approach through out the Development process.

The Truck Owners/Brokers get the notifications of the shipment work orders, and based on their location preferences, the specific work orders will appear in the top of the list. The Truck Owners can bid or express their interest to take up the shipping assignment.
